En repensant leur ex\u00e9cution sur les architectures hybrides CPU\/GPU, de nouvelles approches \u00e0 base de t\u00e2ches dynamiques permettent d\u2019en am\u00e9liorer significativement les performances et la portabilit\u00e9.<\/strong>[\/vc_column_text][vc_column_text uncode_shortcode_id=\u00a0\u00bb996995&Prime;]Les biblioth\u00e8ques de r\u00e9solution ou de manipulation de syst\u00e8mes lin\u00e9aires sont utilis\u00e9es dans de nombreux domaines de la simulation num\u00e9rique (a\u00e9ronautique, \u00e9nergie, mat\u00e9riaux) et de l\u2019intelligence artificielle (training). Nous cherchons \u00e0 rendre ces biblioth\u00e8ques les plus rapides possibles sur les supercalculateurs combinant processeurs traditionnels et acc\u00e9l\u00e9rateurs graphiques (GPU). Nous utilisons pour cela des mod\u00e8les d\u2019ex\u00e9cution \u00e0 base de t\u00e2ches asynchrones qui maximisent l\u2019occupation des unit\u00e9s de calcul.<\/p>\n<p>C\u2019est un domaine de recherche actif o\u00f9 la plupart des approches existantes se heurtent toutefois au difficile probl\u00e8me de d\u00e9coupage du travail \u00ab\u00a0\u00e0 la bonne granularit\u00e9\u00a0\u00bb pour des unit\u00e9s de calcul qui sont h\u00e9t\u00e9rog\u00e8nes.<\/p>\n<p>Durant les derniers mois nous avons mis au point plusieurs extensions d\u2019un mod\u00e8le de programmation parall\u00e8le \u00e0 base de t\u00e2ches dit STF (Sequential Task Flow) qui permet d\u2019impl\u00e9menter de mani\u00e8re beaucoup plus \u00e9l\u00e9gante, concise et portable des algorithmes complexes.\u00a0En combinant ce mod\u00e8le avec des techniques de d\u00e9coupage dynamique et r\u00e9cursif du travail, on accro\u00eet significativement les performances sur des supercalculateurs \u00e9quip\u00e9s d\u2019acc\u00e9l\u00e9rateurs tels que des GPU, notamment gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 la capacit\u00e9 d\u2019adapter dynamiquement la granularit\u00e9 des calculs en fonction de l\u2019occupation des unit\u00e9s de calcul. A titre d\u2019exemple, gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 cette approche nous avons obtenu une acc\u00e9l\u00e9ration de 2x par rapport \u00e0 d\u2019autres biblioth\u00e8ques de l\u2019\u00e9tat de l\u2019art (MAGMA, Parsec) sur un calculateur hybride CPU\/GPU.<\/p>\n<p>Les op\u00e9rations d\u2019alg\u00e8bre lin\u00e9aire sont souvent les \u00e9tapes les plus co\u00fbteuses dans de nombreuses applications de calcul scientifique, analyse de donn\u00e9es et apprentissage profond.
